The Studio

Pilates Plus aims to help individuals bring back the natural curve of their spine and align the body in order to enhance their confidence. Pilates Plus studios are composed of brand new and original Stott equipment and our main priority is giving high quality workouts to our clients.

The Workout

Pilates is a low-impact exercise which focuses on strengthening the muscles. It is a type of exercise that was introduced by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. He developed a new physical fitness system calling this method as the “art of controlled movements” and said that, if it was properly executed, it would feel like a workout. Pilates aims to improve postural alignment and flexibility but also targets the core.

The Community

There are two types of instructors in the studio- the seniors and the juniors. The seniors are the instructors that are Stott certified and have undergone the proper trainings in the Vivian Zapanta studio in Manila. On the other hand, the junior instructor are the instructors that are only trained by the senior instructors.

What is Pilates?

Hello and welcome to the world of Pilates! If you're new to this form of exercise, you might be wondering what Pilates is all about and what makes Stott Pilates different from regular Pilates.

Pilates is a low-impact exercise method that focuses on developing a strong core, improving flexibility, and enhancing overall body strength and control. It was originally developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century and has since become a popular form of exercise around the world.

What is STOTT Pilates?

Stott Pilates is a contemporary approach to the original Pilates method developed by Joseph Pilates. Named after its founders, Lindsay and Moira Merrithew, who were former dancers and students of Romana Kryzanowska (one of Joseph Pilates' protégés), Stott Pilates focuses on incorporating modern principles of exercise science and biomechanics.

What sets Stott Pilates apart is its emphasis on anatomical alignment, core stability, and breath control, while maintaining the key principles of Pilates. Stott Pilates exercises are designed to create balanced muscle strength and flexibility, improve posture, and enhance overall body awareness.

In Stott Pilates, modifications and variations are utilized to accommodate different body types, fitness levels, and physical conditions. This makes it accessible to a wide range of individuals, including beginners, active individuals, rehabilitation patients, and athletes.

Stott Pilates exercises can be performed on a mat or using specialized equipment such as the Reformer, Cadillac, and Stability Chair. The equipment incorporates adjustable resistance and support to enhance the effectiveness and challenge of the exercises.

Stott Pilates is recognized worldwide for its focus on safe and effective movement, with qualified instructors undergoing extensive training and certification programs. Whether the goal is to improve strength, flexibility, posture, or overall well-being, Stott Pilates offers a comprehensive approach that promotes functional movement and a balanced body.

About Pilates Plus

Pilates Plus was established in 2014, initially with just four instructors, with a mission to help individuals restore the natural curve of their spine and align their bodies, ultimately boosting their confidence. Our studio specializes in Stott Pilates, offering two categories of instructors: seniors and juniors. The senior instructors are Stott certified and have undergone extensive training at the Vivian Zapanta studio in Manila. Conversely, the junior instructors receive training from the senior instructors.

With our humble beginnings, Pilates Plus operated from a single studio in Obrero. Over the years, our clientele grew significantly, along with the number of instructors. Eventually, our studio space became cramped and limited, prompting us to embark on a rebranding and expansion journey. In 2019, we proudly opened our second branch located at the Compound in Matina. In 2021, we celebrated the inauguration of our newest Azuela branch, bringing our total studio count to three. Alongside these expansions, we bolstered our instructor team, which now consists of 10 professionals distributed across all three studios.
